What Is Seedance AI?

Seedance is ByteDance's video generation model. Give it a prompt, a still image, or reference media, and it renders a clip with optional native audio. On this page the generator opens on Seedance 2.5: 4 to 30 seconds, 480p or 720p.

Seedance is the model to pick when a shot needs time. Seedance 2.5 runs up to 30 seconds, and it can hold a first frame, a last frame, and reference images, audio and video in the same render. Runway Gen-4.5, also in this picker, is 5 or 10 seconds at 720p and does not generate audio. Sora 2 is 4, 8 or 12 seconds at 720p, with sound on every clip and no reference uploads.

On Genreel, Seedance sits in the same prompt box as Veo, Kling, Sora and Grok Imagine. One credit balance, no ByteDance account. Genreel is an independent tool and is not affiliated with ByteDance. The generate button shows the credit cost for the length and resolution you have selected.

How to Generate a Video with Seedance 2.5

The generator at the top of this page is the whole workflow. No install, no timeline, no plugins.

Step 1

Pick Seedance 2.5

This page opens on Seedance 2.5. Open the model list if you want Seedance 2.0 instead. The parameters panel shows 480p or 720p, 4 to 30 seconds, an audio switch, and the credit cost on the generate button.

Step 2

Write one shot

Describe who or what is on screen, the action, and one camera move. Seedance 2.5 can run long enough for the action to finish. If the audio switch is on, name the sound in the same sentence.

Step 3

Set length, resolution and audio

The default is 5 seconds at 720p, with audio on: 710 credits. Drop to 480p or shorten the clip to spend less. The audio switch does not change the price. Switch the aspect ratio before generating if the clip is for a vertical post.

Step 4

Generate and download

Press generate and wait while the clip renders. Preview it in the browser, download the MP4, or change one line of the prompt and run it again. Every result is saved in your account. Failed renders return their credits automatically.

Seedance Models, Specs and Credit Cost

These are the settings Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 offer in the generator today. The generate button is the final word: it shows the live credit cost for the length and resolution you have selected.

This page opens on Seedance 2.5 at 5 seconds and 720p, with the audio switch on. That clip is 710 credits. The same 5 seconds at 480p is 320 credits. Credits change with every second from 4 to 30, and they change again when you switch resolution. Turning audio off does not change the price.

On the Lite yearly plan, 24,000 credits are included and the displayed rate is $0.00445 per credit — about $3.16 for that default Seedance 2.5 clip. Seedance 2.0 at 5 seconds and 720p is 550 credits, about $2.45 on the same plan. The pricing page lists the current rate.

New accounts receive 40 free credits. That covers one Wan 2.2 Fast clip at 480p for 5 seconds. It does not cover a Seedance clip. The cheapest Seedance 2.5 render is 250 credits, at 4 seconds and 480p.

The picker also lists Seedance 2.0 Fast, Seedance 2.0 Mini, Seedance 1.5 Pro and Seedance 1.0 Pro. Fast and Mini use 2.0's 4 to 15 second range at 480p or 720p. 1.5 Pro runs 4 to 12 seconds up to 1080p, with an audio switch. 1.0 Pro runs 2 to 12 seconds up to 1080p and does not generate audio. When a later version ships, this table is the place it lands. The URL stays the same.

Seedance 2.5 vs Other AI Video Models

Seedance 2.5, Veo 3.1, Kling 3.0, Sora 2 and Grok Imagine can all make a clip from a prompt. They disagree about length, resolution, sound and what you can attach. Here is the difference in the picker.

Clip length

Seedance 2.5 runs from 4 to 30 seconds. Seedance 2.0 stops at 15. Veo 3.1 is 4, 6 or 8. Kling 3.0 is 3 to 15. Sora 2 is 4, 8 or 12. Grok Imagine is 1 to 15. A scene that needs time belongs on Seedance 2.5.

Resolution

Seedance 2.5 is 480p or 720p. It does not output 1080p or 4K. Seedance 2.0 does: 480p, 720p, 1080p and 4K. Veo 3.1 is 720p or 1080p. Kling 3.0 adds a 4K option. Sora 2 is 720p, and Sora 2 Pro adds 1024p. Grok Imagine tops out at 720p.

Audio

Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 have a native-audio switch, on by default, and the switch does not change the credit cost. Veo 3.1 and Kling 3.0 also use a switch, and turning theirs off costs less. Sora 2 and Grok Imagine generate sound on every clip, with no switch.

References

Seedance 2.5 accepts a first frame, a last frame, and up to four reference images, four audios and four videos. That is the control the other four do not match in one model. Attaching a reference video raises the price: 5 seconds at 720p goes from 710 credits to 2,950.

Cost

The default Seedance 2.5 clip — 5 seconds, 720p — is 710 credits. A 5-second Grok Imagine clip is 160. A 4-second Sora 2 clip is 180. Draft on Wan 2.2 Fast, where 40 credits buys one 480p, 5-second clip, then spend the Seedance credits on the shot that needs the length.

Seedance Prompt Tips

Seedance 2.5 gives you up to 30 seconds. That is enough for one action to finish. It is not enough for a plot. Five habits that hold up in the generator:

Let the action finish

"The boat catches on a leaf, then slips free" is a Seedance shot. "A day at the market" is not. Use the extra seconds to complete one action, not to start a second scene.

Name one camera move

Locked-off, slow push-in, side track. On a long clip, an unnamed camera will wander. One move, held, reads cleaner than three.

Match the sound line to the switch

Audio is on by default and does not change the price, so leave it on unless you want a silent file. If it is on, name the sound where it happens. If you turn it off, drop the audio line.

Spend references on what must match

Use reference images for a face, a product or a costume. Use a reference video only when the motion itself has to match — it multiplies the credit cost. The prompt still has to say what happens.

Change one line at a time

If the subject drifts, fix the subject line. If the clip feels short, change the duration instead of rewriting the prompt. A 30-second render is the expensive place to guess.

A pattern that fits this model: "[Framing] of [subject] in [place]. [One action with an ending]. The camera [one move]. [Light]. [Sound, if the switch is on]."

Seedance Examples

There is no finished Seedance clip on this page. Each card is a prompt you can load into the generator above. Seedance 2.5 is already selected.

A paper boat in the gutter

A paper boat in a rain-filled gutter. It drifts from the left, catches on a leaf, then slips free and continues. The camera stays locked at ground level. Grey afternoon light. Rain on stone, and water running into a drain.

A cup set back down

A ceramic cup on a wooden table. Steam rises. A hand enters, lifts the cup, and sets it back down. Slow push-in. Warm window light from the left. The cup touches the wood, then quiet room tone.

A cyclist at a wet corner

A cyclist in a red jacket turns a wet city corner and stops. The camera tracks once from the side. Neon signs reflect on the road. Tire hiss, then a short bell.

A bottle on a dark desk

A small glass bottle on a dark desk turns a quarter turn and stops. The camera is locked. One soft spotlight. Low room tone, no music.

Is Seedance AI Free?

No. Seedance on Genreel is paid in credits. New accounts receive 40 free credits after sign-up, and that gift covers one complete clip on Wan 2.2 Fast at 480p for 5 seconds. It does not cover Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0. The generator charges the full clip before it starts, so 40 credits is not a partial payment.

The cheapest Seedance 2.5 clip is 250 credits: 4 seconds at 480p. The cheapest Seedance 2.0 clip is 200 credits: 4 seconds at 480p. The page default — Seedance 2.5, 5 seconds, 720p, audio on — is 710 credits. Draft on Wan 2.2 Fast, then buy a credit pack or a plan when the shot needs the longer model. A credit pack does not require a subscription.

40 free credits

Added after sign-up. Enough for one Wan 2.2 Fast clip. A Seedance clip starts at 200 credits.

No watermark

Genreel does not stamp a logo on the MP4, including clips made with Seedance 2.5 or Seedance 2.0.

No credit card to start

Payment details are only needed if you buy credits. The Seedance price is shown on the generate button before you start.

Seedance AI FAQ

What Seedance costs in this generator, and what the 40 free credits actually cover.

Is Seedance AI free?

No. On Genreel, Seedance is paid in credits. A new account's 40 free credits cover one Wan 2.2 Fast clip at 480p for 5 seconds, not a Seedance clip. The cheapest Seedance 2.5 render is 250 credits, at 4 seconds and 480p. The page default is 710 credits.

Who made Seedance AI?

Seedance is a video model from ByteDance. On Genreel you use it from the same prompt box as the other models. You do not need a ByteDance account. Genreel is an independent tool and is not affiliated with ByteDance.

What's the difference between Seedance 2.0 and 2.5?

Seedance 2.5 runs 4 to 30 seconds at 480p or 720p. Seedance 2.0 runs 4 to 15 seconds and adds 1080p and 4K. Both have an audio switch that does not change the price, and both accept reference images, audio and video. A 5-second 720p clip is 710 credits on 2.5 and 550 on 2.0. The picker also includes 2.0 Fast, 2.0 Mini, 1.5 Pro and 1.0 Pro.

How long can Seedance generate?

Seedance 2.5 generates 4 to 30 seconds, or Auto, which is billed as 10 seconds. Seedance 2.0 generates 4 to 15 seconds, with the same Auto billing. Credits scale with the length and the resolution. The default on this page is 5 seconds.

Does Seedance AI generate audio?

Yes. Seedance 2.5 and Seedance 2.0 generate native audio with the video when the sound switch is on. The switch is on by default. Turning it off does not change the credit cost. Seedance 1.0 Pro, also in the picker, does not generate audio.

What resolution does Seedance output?

Seedance 2.5 outputs 480p or 720p. It does not output 1080p or 4K. Seedance 2.0 outputs 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K. Resolution changes the credit cost on both.
